The Maharaja Train Tours are conceptualized as for providing a taste of personal hospitality while traveling in a Group. The guests re-live the Traditional Indian Hospitality during the tour.

At the time of check-in, the guests are personally escorted to their Passenger Carriages and the butlers are available round the clock for the tea/coffee services in your cabins/sleeping chambers. These butlers are also responsible for the cleanliness of your chambers during the entire journey. Any specific diet request or special need of yours can also be conveyed to the Train Tour Manager through these butlers.

The Bar Lounge is manage by a supervisor & two attendants.
There is a Supervisor & three stewards in each dining saloon.
The On-board Kitchen is managed by Head Chef & his team of cooks.
The Spa treatments & laundry services are outsourced to private company & can be availed on prior request, on direct payment basis
The Railway Engine is diesel/electric based & operated by staff of Indian Railways.

For sightseeing tours, the total members are divided into groups of 25-30 persons & each group is accompanied by an English speaking guide. In addition, An Assistant Train Tour Manager also accompanies the Group for all excursions & sightseeing tours.

The Train Tour Manager can usually be contacted through Bar Supervisor.

Staff -Maharajas Express Train

Train Operator - Maharajas Express Journeys
Since Jan 2012, The Maharajas Express train is owned & operated by IRCTC, (commercial wing of Indian Railways).

The sightseeing tours are managed by a local travel company, sub contracted by IRCTC.
Consumption of house brand beverages is included in tour tariff, but premier brands are on chargeable basis.
Guests have choice to book 4 different types of cabins such as. Deluxe, Junior Suite, Suite & Presidential Suite.
The esteemed guests booked to travel in Suites & Presidential Suites are provided private AC vehicles for sightseeing tours with services of exclusive English speaking guide.
There are optional sightseeing tours & excursions /spa treatments at luxury resorts available on prior request & direct payment Jungle excursions at Ranthambore Tiger Reserve are as per directions of local forest authorities.

Train Operator - Palace on Wheels Tour
The Palace on Wheels train is owned & operated by RTDC. (Tourism department of Rajasthan State Government )
The sightseeing tours are managed by a local travel company, subcontracted by RTDC. All the Cabins are of same type with twin beds.
Jungle excursions at Ranthambore Tiger Reserve & Bharatpur Bird sanctuary are as per directions of local forest authorities
The Managing Director of RTDC based in Jaipur (India) is solely responsible to address any grievance or some unresolved issue during the train journey.




Staff-Royal Rajasthan on Wheels Train

Train Operator - Royal Rajasthan on Wheels Tour
The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is owned and operated by Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC).
The sightseeing tours are managed by a local travel company, subcontracted by RTDC.
Guests have option to book Deluxe Cabin and Super Deluxe Cabin
Jungle excursions at Ranthambore Tiger Reserve are as per directions of local forest authorities
The Managing Director of RTDC based in Jaipur (India) is solely responsible to address any grievance or some unresolved issue during the train journey.



Staff-Golden Chariot Train & Southern Splendour

Train Operator - Golden Chariot Train & Southern Splendour Tour
The Golden Chariot train on both circuits Pride of South circuit as well as Southern Splendour tour circuit is owned & operated by KSTDC (Karnataka State Govt. Tourism Department)
The on-board hospitality and off board excursions have been sub contracted to Maple Group of Hotels-an Indian Hotel Company.
All the Cabins are of same type, but guests have an option of booking the cabins with twin or double beds.
Jungle excursions at Nagarhole Tiger Reserve (in Pride of South Tour) are as per directions of local forest authorities

Staff-Deccan Odyssey Train

Train Operator - The Deccan Odyssey Tour
The Deccan Odyssey train is owned & operated by MTDC (Tourism Department of Maharashtra State Government)
The on-board hospitality has been out sourced to Taj Group of Hotels & local excursions sub contracted to local handing agent by MTDC
Guests have an option of booking Deluxe Cabin or Presidential Suite , as per their requirements
Over past couple of years, the Deccan Odyssey train only operates for limited period on Maharashtra –Goa route.
For other, major number of departs, The Deccan Odyssey train has been leased to TCI to operate on Mumbai/Delhi route as The Indian Maharaja
