Maharajas Express Restaurants

Two fine dining restaurants aboard Maharajas Express have been exquisitely crafted with their own unique theme décor which creates a distinct ambience through their concept. They have the capacity to seat 42 guests each. The chef with a team of cooks have years of experience in preparing delicacies from around the world. Table d’hôte meals are inclusive in the tariff. The cutlery consists of gold-edged plates and Swarovski hand-cut crystal glasses because you should also feast like a Maharaja. Comfort and space have been given paramount importance.

Rang Mahal
The guests overwhelming favourite is ‘Rang Mahal’ restaurant which means ‘The Palace of Colors’ adorned with a hand painted fresco ceiling. Special Kashmiri carpenters designed it over a period of 9 months. The wood paneling is of Burmese teak wood. For flooring, a hand-woven Kashmiri has been used.

Mayur Mahal

The prized peacock is made of copper and semi-precious stone artefacts.The restaurant used Mahogany wood imported from Canada.The mosaic is sourced from Spain. With sun rays, you’ll find the restaurant turn from green to a mesmerizing bluish hue.

Rajah Club Lounge

Rajah Club consists of games tables and juniper club arm-chairs along with an extensive collection of books. The best place on the train to unwind and revivify The comfortable club armchairs are made from English calf leather. Portuguese guns still in working conditions run by gun powder. The wood paneling used is of Burmese teak origin.  

The Safari Bar

Safari Bar is a well stocked bar with a variety of finest labels of wines and spirits from around the world in a dazzling setting of a royal safari. Experimental cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages are also served. This is, of course, the most lively carriage.
