Khajuraho

One of the UNESCO world heritage sites, Khajuraho is a group of 22 magnificent temples. Located in Madhya Pradesh, Khajuraho got its epigraph from the Khajur Tree (Palm Tree). In the temples, there are no deities or worshipping traits to follow. Rather, they’re all about looking up to their spectacular architecture. Khajuraho Lakshmana temple

Lakshmana Temple

It is one of the oldest temples of Khajuraho and was built in 930-950 CE. The uniqueness of the temple is defined by its main chamber which is in the form of a chariot. There are a plenty of beautiful carvings of Hindu Gods just at the entrance of Lakshmana Temple. Once you are inside the temple, the big image of Vaikuntha-Vishnu is sure to woo you.

Kandariya Mahadev Temple

It is the largest temple of the group with a height of a whopping 31.5 metres. Prominent for its splendid architecture, the Kandariya Mahadev Temple is built on a large platform and dedicated to Lord Shiva. Some of the great sculptures in the temple fused with beautiful carvings are sure to leave you spellbound. As you enter the temple, you get to see different forms of art through the engraved figures on the wall.

Devi Jagdamba Temple

The Devi Jagdamba Temple is divided into three bands. The first one has sculptures of Lord Brahma, the second one has the carvings of Lord Shiva, and the third one is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. As you disembark from the Maharaja Train, there is a lot for you to explore in this temple.
